The NFL news has been, well, depressing lately. There is no shortage of it rolling across the wire. The loss of NFL great Junior Seau in a suspected suicide. The Saints, being punished for their bounty program, which includes multiple suspensions and fines.
It was time for some good news. New Head Coach of the Buccaneers Greg Schiano and the Buccaneers organization provided it in heartwarming fashion. On May 2, 2012 the Buccaneers signed defensive tackle Eric LeGrand, a former player for Schiano at Rutgers who suffered a serious neck injury in the 2010 season that left him paralyzed from the neck down.
With a simple gesture Coach Schiano has brought pride and honor to the Buccaneers and NFL. Coach Schiano has yet to lead the team onto the field for a single game but has already made a monumental impact on this team, league and community!
A tip of the cap to Coach Schiano, GM Mark Dominik and the Glazer family. We will be watching with great interest and excitement. Keep up the excellent work!
